Peter Adams, LMFT

Therapist in Berkeley, CA

Meet Peter: Hi! I’m Peter, and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist.  I got my undergrad degree at Williams College, and my graduate degree at Golden Gate University.  I’ve been practicing counseling since 2011.

My Therapy Specialties in Berkeley:

I work with adults and couples facing:

  • anxiety & depression
  • trauma
  • compulsive behaviors and addictions
  • relational stress
  • men’s issues and fatherhood

I also have a particular interest in working with people who are struggling to make meaning in their lives, or struggling to value their own efforts.

What drew me to this work: I have lived my own healing journey, and work every day to be the man, partner, and father I want to be. Offering others help in finding the clarity, understanding, and skills they need to move forward in their own lives has been the most rewarding work I’ve ever done.  I believe that honest, accepting, and supportive therapy is the best way for people to find their way forward to greater happiness.

My style: Clear, direct and loving.

Services I offer: In-person individual, couple, and family therapy as well as online video counseling for residents of California.

Peter’s Credentials:

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #88532
  • M.A Counseling Psychology: Golden Gate University, San Francisco, 2012
  • B.A History: Williams College, 2000
  • B.A. English: Williams College, 2000
