Laura Muzaffar, LMFT
Therapist in Berkeley, CA
Meet Laura: Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, which allows me to do what I love: support others and help them make positive change in their lives. I’m thrilled that you are considering me to be that support for you, or for your family. I received undergraduate degrees from UC Davis and a graduate degree from the Wright Institute, Berkeley.
My Therapy Specialties in Berkeley:
I have worked extensively with adolescents and I also treat adults and couples. I work with individuals, couples or families who struggle with:
Relational issues stemming from difficulties in communication or attachment
Substance use (mild to moderate)
I also hold a particular interest in working with individuals, couples or families who are in a state of transition (professionally, romantically, or who are creating new family dynamics due to separation from spouse/partner).
What drew me to this work: I have always been aware of the value of empathy, and authentic presence in human relationships. This awareness led me to a profession that is centered around that fundamental need for genuine connection. I supported families in the Head Start program as their case manager and worked as a school-based therapist with youth from every stage of development. As a therapist in private practice, I have helped adults and couples find clarity and connection. I truly believe that with caring support, everyone has the potential to become the best version of themselves.
My style: Warm, attentive, non-judgemental.
Services I offer: In-person individual, couple, and family therapy as well as online video counseling for residents of California.
